Dear Olivet Family,

In John 4:13-14 Jesus said to the women at the well:

“Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

May you be blessed and encouraged by this prayer from Alisha Headley:

Lord, how we love you. We thank you for the powerful stories from your Word about real people with real struggles, problems we still experience today, generations and cultures removed.

Thank you, Lord, that we can feel a sense of wholeness and completeness while still walking the messy path in this fallen world. Thank you that we can experience your living water and be thirsty no more.

Lord, we empty our cups out. Our lesser loves: the things or people, the idols we have placed before you; we empty them out before you. We ask that you would forgive us for turning to lesser loves when we should have been turning to our one true love in you.

Holy Spirit, we ask that you would now fill us with your love, your peace, your truth, and with your perspective as we navigate this world we live in. We ask that you would give us wisdom and prompt us in moments we are searching in the wrong places. We love you so much Lord and know that no one person or thing can give us a love like yours.

Thank you for sending your one and only son to free us from this fallen world forever.  We look forward to the day we unite with you.

Amen

Church Updates:

It is great to have Jocelyn on staff working on expanding our connect groups.  Establishing various on-line connections is so vital right now as we are not able to gather in person.  For the next eight weeks, beginning Wednesday, May 5th from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, Jocelyn will be facilitating a study called The Prayer Course 1 by Pete Greig.  The focus of this course is on the Lord's prayer.  A video from Pete will be watched together, followed by discussion questions, and then a time of prayer for one another.  If you are interested please email Jocelyn at: jocelyn@olivet.bc.ca

Having our Stephen Ministers connect with individuals at Olivet is such a blessing.  We have expanded this ministry to include what we are referring to as Stephen Helpers.  These are individuals who would be willing to periodically provide a meal, a ride, or some other assistance for someone on a periodic basis.  Cerelina Gurat is co-ordinating this valuable ministry.  If you would be willing to help out in this way, so she has a list of people to call upon to help, please email us at office@olivet.bc.ca and your information will be passed on.

In His grip,
Pastor Laura
