Dear Olivet congregation,
After much thought and discussion about the current COVID-19 situation, we have decided to pause our Sunday gatherings until further notice.
This decision is made not from a spirit of fear but from a spirit of social responsibility—out of care for each other and for our wider community. The advice we are receiving from experts is that we limit social gatherings and that social isolation is the best way to prevent further spread of the virus at this time. We are heeding that advice. Dr. Tam (Chief Public Health Officer of Canada) has said “We need to act now” and Prime Minister Trudeau has cautioned to: “Take every precaution to keep people safe.”
I would recommend taking this time to read your Bible and pray. We also have membership with RightNowMedia where you can watch a variety of studies. If you would like to register, please contact [email protected]t.bc.ca.We also want to put into place ways to help our seniors with food or obtaining necessary supplies. If you need assistance or know of someone who does please contact [email protected] Psalm 34:17-19The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.19 The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all;
Grace, mercy and peace be upon you.
